CaribWorldNews, CABIN JOHN, Md., Fri. May 9, 2008: A second travel agency has publicly joined animal rights group PETA in supporting a tourism boycott of St. Kitts/Nevis.
Washington, D.C.-based Green Earth Travel, according to PETA, has advised them that it will encourage its clients not to visit St. Kitts until the St. Kitts`-based Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine ends its alleged cruel and deadly surgical procedures on animals.
The D.C. travel group`s public support comes on the heels of the recent decision by the Las Vegas-based high-end travel agency, Holiday Systems International, to also steer its 300,000 clients away from St. Kitts.
The St. Kitts Ministry of Agriculture has launched an investigation, but PETA claims the veterinary school continues to conduct needless practice sessions on healthy animals that often result in death.
